The Texas Women Anglers Tournament

Known as TWAT, this annual fishing competition is exclusive to women. Hosted in Port Aransas, Texas, the family-operated tournament has been a summer tradition since the 1980s. Its primary objective is to generate funds for the Women's Shelter of South Texas, now known as The Purple Door.

The bracket-style, single-elimination Turkey Bowling tournament is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, drawing both enthusiastic participants and a lively audience. Official tournament sign-ups begin at 5:30, but the lanes will be open for spontaneous rolls. Best of all, this event is free, although strongly encourages cash for food and beverages!
